About the Children

Poem Commentary

I was always afraid that when my children were grown I would be plagued with empty nest syndrome. Honestly, my kids still bring me joy every day as adults. I feel very blessed.

About the Children

Hello. How are you?
Thank you I am fine.
How about the children?
They are blessed and they are mine.

Brittany is in college now.
She's as beautiful as bright.
She went Greek to make new friends,
She is busy day and night.

I remember when she was little,
she laughed all of time.
I  can't believe how lucky I am,
she is blessed and she is mine.

Nick graduates from State this fall,
 A computer engineer.
Brains, good looks , a heart of gold.
This gentleman knows no fear.

I remember when he was little,
he followed the rules every time.
I can't believe how lucky I am,
he is blessed and he is mine.

The kids are doing great now.
And I am doing fine.
I still can't believe how lucky I am,
I am blessed, and they are mine.

the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. happy children.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
