    You Will Pay

I will never forget that day,
when the judge said you will pay.
All I could do was close my eyes and shake my head.
Wondering how will I live in the years ahead.
My ex-mate was shining with gleam.
When I opened my eyes thats all I seen.
So now I must work everyday thats how I serve my term.
Giving her everything, eveything I earn.
    Can I miss a payment? I wouldn't dare,
even if I wanted to Uncle Sam would make sure she got he fair share.
So I kept telling myself it's for the girls.
Yet I get furious when I see her and her mate living on top of the world.
One day maybe she will let me live, but until that day.
Like the judge said "You Will Pay."

Nicely done. Life it seems is not always fair. Your poem captures your feelings very well. Hampton

It really is for the girls. Children are expensive to raise.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
