Yes, You Are

yes, you are all that,

beautiful,

fair of face,

an entrancing presence

to any who observe, and

yes, i am one of those,

one who watches,

appreciates, yes,

even dreams of being involved

with a beauty such as yours,

deep and true and

pure, and

yes, like those other hopefuls,

i dream and wish,

to know you,

know the true essence of you, and

yes, also like those others,

i approve of, enjoy,

am rapt with appreciation

of the you

glimpsed only from afar,

surreal, and

so, i allow myself to voice

these idylls only thru my pen,

such is the way of life,

so close, yet so far,

alas, such can be this world.
