Wonderland

As i sit down  in the dim lit hospital room,
i shut my half open exhausted eyes,
As i dive into my wonderland.
Youre there, as well as i, swimming in rays of sunshine, running barefoot under the baby blue sky,
breathing our candy sweet air.
i hold your timid little hands as i tell you i wish i could stay forever in your sweet embrace.
But your tears fall like midnight snow, so silent, yet pure.
I tell you i must leave yet again.
And as i begin to run, i look back to see the light leave your eyes,
Then i open mine and come back to my oh so harsh reality.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
