Where Is My Love

Where Is My Love

Where is my love…she is far away

But in my heart… is where she will stay

Even though… she’s not in sight

She goes to bed… with me every night

Sometimes she’s there…in my dream

Even if she’s not…she’s in my bloodstream

My heart is hers…and hers alone

It’s the deepest love…I have ever known

I know I’ll see her…again some day

But for now…I can only pray

That her feelings are such…that she can’t stay away

And she’ll come to my house…so that we can play

We’ll be together…and the energy will flow

From the tips of my fingers…right down to my toes

I’ll tell her I love her…and kiss her some more

And hold her so tight…like I did before

Very smooth flow and so well told. I read it twice.Felt a mix of loss yet hope. Really good write-filled with insight.

How very sad and oh so sweet.. if only to feel love as yours.. I would be a very happy lady.. Great poem! Hugs SG

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
