Where are You

Can your love stand the test of time?

I know I will love you for the rest of my life

I see our relationship slippin away from me

I feel your love slowly withdrawing from inside

What will it take to win your love forever?

How long before I will be able to have you close

As all relationships, ours is at the point of unstable

I long for the days we shared in the beginning

What must I do to seal our fate and live like yesterday?

I have looked for this mate and gave up, now she walks into my life

And no sooner than I acquire happiness, it is gone that quick

Me sitting at home, looking out the window, in search of love

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
