The Heart Surgeon

I gave my heart to the only one I have loved, and she gave it back to me
I told her how I would love her forever, but this was when she love me back
Now I sit here all alone in a house full of nothing but love for me
Yet the only place I really wanted love from, love is just what I lack

It has been hard to get to this point, where I can see what was done
I know know that I have been dealt a terible hand, and now I must fold
I no longer look to have love in my life, at least not from the only one
I will now leave you alone, never to laugh again, to die and grow old

It feels like I have been set up, thinking back, it seems that way from the start
I can no longer see myself with you in a happy, loving, family place
It is a shame you cant say what needs to be said, it is good for the heart
You told me you have never been happy, yet you dont even tell me to my face

I never wanted to have an end like the one we had the last friday we meet
But the night you could not talk to me about what you wanted should of been the last
Until you start taking contol of your life and live for yourself no matter the heat
You will always have a bad life, only having bits and pieces of your lonely past

But you have your house, your money, and of course the children in your life
You have the piece of mind of knowing you choose the course your life is taking today
Thinking about the love you could of had is not good, dont think about being my wife
Dont think about the man you hurt, what you done to me, and having nothing to say

As I told you before, I did not want to place this type of pain upon your head
But I can no longer protect you, when you seem to have no regard for what is done to me
I am sorry it had to end like this, and I would not wish this on anyone alive or dead
I just want you to know before I am gone, just what you could not say to me
