    What Your Missing

I cried for you today not because I miss you,
but because of what you are missing everyday.
You missed their laughs and smiles too.
You're missing everything special they do.
From their A's on the report cards to the hugs and kisses goodnight. From the handprints on the wall to their silly little fights.
You are missing it all, You don't even call.
I feel so sorry for you, for everything that you don't do.
The kids are growing faster each day,
Before long they will go their own way.
I will be here to guide them through,
    But where are you?
I don't need you but they do.

I felt this one. I've thought the same thing many times, but couldn't put it into words. It will be 20 years since my ex walked away from our two kids and I. I doubt they would even know her. TS

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
