what happened?

    what happened?

    change comes slowly
    infection of the soul
    unseen
    un-noticed
until i’m no longer the person
    i once thought i was

    what was once so clear
    grows unsure
black and white mutes to grey
    as sides are considered

    re-invention
    nothing is different
    except everything

    old patterns re-emerge
    behavior long submerged
    nothing is the same
    except everything

Really liked this. I could feel the old behavioral magma rising up from beneath. Good work. Abstract enough to be reinterpreted some. Thanks!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
