walking feet
“Walking feet”
My feet are tired; I’ve walked my whole life
Conquered many things, fathered two, and found a wife.
Throughout my years I’ve fell more than I’ve landed.
I’m not complaining- I’m doing well with what’s handed
My feet though…. Boy can they go!
They amaze me at times, neither too fast nor slow
I guess I’ve got walking feet, like the great greats of the past
Who walked through dangerous streets, for me to say “free at last”
But my “walking feet” they don’t blister nor bruise
They help keep me grounded, they keep me on cruise.
What am I talking? Read on and you’ll see…
The feet that’s still supporting and carrying me
We’ve been through a lot my feet and I…
I may not have always won, but at least I tried.
And that’s when my feet get even stronger!
To carry me further, and hold me up longer
Now can you see my feet? How they stride in pride?
We’re connected some how, like the grace in an eagle’s glide.
My walking feet have carried me well into a fine man,
And they’re still carrying me- leaving “Foot prints” in the sand.
