    “Standing in my shadow”

    “Standing in my shadow”

    I’ll never forget the joy that she put into my life
    Her kind words-her gentle touch, “All” that felt nice

    Though we had our differences only we knew our love
    The way we cried, the way we fought-we always rose above.

    Yet our time has been cut short, I still long for her here.
    I know she's “standing in my shadow”; I know she’s still near.

    Maybe it’s in my heart…. Where she’ll always dwell.
    There her room is cozy; there I hide her well.

    Only time will tell the next time I’ll see her face
    I’ll take my time, I’ll keep her smile, and I’ll run my own race.

    I know I’ll see her again and our hearts will then interlace;
    She’s always “standing in my shadow” and there I see her face.

    The last line of the fourth stanza kind of threw me for a loop. Not sure if you meant to write something else. Other than that the poem was very touching. I get the feeling that you sepearted not by choice, but by circumstance.

    awwwwwwwwww...i lyk it

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
