Waiting

I was waiting patiently for you,
inside that hot, crowded gym.
Waiting for your safe return,
for us to began again.

When you didn't approach me,
I felt so empty not knowing what to do.
I looked around searching each face,
feeling so helpless to find you.

I finally figured it all out,
you didn't know what to say.
Your heart belonged to another,
you deceided lies were the only way.

I was kept in the dark,
for all those lonely years.
Now, I finally see the light,
It's shining brightly through my tears.

We've all been there in some way shape or form. It's no fun - but on the lighter side, this is very well written. 10 from me

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
