Torture

Torture

When will this torture ever end? When will I no longer remember your touch, your smile, your laughter.
Tell me how to forget you, you were able to forget me so quickly
You shattered my heart into a thousand pieces, yet each piece continues to still love you
When will I be able to dance without your memory, you now dance with another
When will I be able to sleep without dreaming of you? I wonder who is in your dreams.
When will I no longer ache for what should have been...
When will this torture ever end?

It ends when you let it end. I identify with what you write, because I was there. ( I couldn't write it down, though. ) I guess the only thing that got me through was the realization that the two children involved had no choice in the matter. One of us had to become a parent. I don't regret my decision, read In The Quiet Of The Evening. Again, very well written. You've touched a part of me hidden for a long time. Don't ever think nobody cares. ( Been there, too. ) I do, TS

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
