Velvet Leaf

Velvet Leaf

Velvet leaf flutter in the wind,

Fall upon the bed of flowers so lightly,

Carry my soul in your evening flight

Let me observe your glory

Until you fall on my bedroom windows,

As I ponder deep into my heart,

To find a final thought for a pillow,

I take a breath so deep with fear

Of what the morrow’s sun will bring near.

Through purple blue night sky I search to find a sign

Of what the morrow’s essence will find.

And what is it but a dream marked by the

white face of a clock?
