Sorry

Sorry

I am sorry I hurt you,
my little boy,
my big strong man,
my Adonis,
You make David ashamed.
I took your words, and turned them against you.
With that, I crushed
Your heart.

You thought you could
turn to me for love,
with those gorgeous eyes,
that I made cry.

You ripped me apart with your words,
some of which you were not aware or,
or maybe even meant,
but that is no excuse for me.

Farewell, my love,
until and if we are both
ready for love,
the kind I know
we can have together.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
