    Minutes turn to hours
    Hours turn to days
    Wondering around in a maze
Don’t know where to go, when to turn
I feel like I’m stuck in a cage
I start to feel a rage
    Where is my light
    It shines so bright
    Here.. somewhere.. it must be
I always keep it on me
Up ahead is that a door
    I didn’t see it before
    It begins to close
    I shout… please don’t lock me out
A man sees me just in time
Because my light was only the size of a dime
I wanted to whimper like I pup
    Then I looked up
    The man was you
I didn’t know what to do
    You said we were strong
    And nothing would go wrong
I needed to rest my head
    You took to the bed
    I started to weep
In your arms..I went to sleep

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
