I'm no genius
But I'm no idiot
So many feelings inside
I want to express
to ease my mind
My words may not have
an educated vocabulary
But the feelings are real inside me
And I must express myself
with my true voice
If I speak with words
I don't use
Even if I understand their meaning
I am not being true to myself
I would be a follower
of what is expected of a poet
Instead, I am a leader
And defend my right
to express myself
simply
