A SENSE OF FREEDOM

A SENSE OF FREEDOM

A TOUCH THAT TINGLES
FROM THE BODY TO THE SOUL
AWAKENING THE URGE TO MOLD
EVERY PART OF MY SENSUAL BODY
BUT WHEN THE MOLD HARDENS
I FEEL TRAPPED AND FROZEN IN THE TIME
WHEN APPRECIATING WHO YOU ARE
IS A CRIME
NOT BEING ABLE TO APRECIATE
THE BEAUTY THAT IS ME
TRAPPING MY SOUL
IN A PUDDLE OF MENTAL ABUSE
CRYING FOR JUST AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
THAT I AM BEAUTIFUL
IN EVERY WAY
CAN'T YOU SEE THIS SOUL?
READY TO BATTLE
FOR THE SAKE OF GOODNESS
WHY DO I FEEL THIS
CHOKING IN MY NECK
YOU TRAP ME WITH
YOUR WORDS OF HATE
AND JEALOUSY
YET I SCRATCH AND BITE
TO GET OUT
I NEED TO BREATHE
THE AIR CALLED ZEAL
I NEED TO STRAP ON
THE STRENGH TO BELIEVE
AND THE STRENGTH TO HOPE
I SLOWLY GET UP FROM
THE BLOWS OF DESPAIR
AND FORCE MY WAY
INTO A WORLD
UNKOWN TO ME
WHERE I FEEL
A SENSE OF FREEDOM

i coulsd feel your pain, I hope this is not a reality for you. Its a great and touching poem.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
