Cheer Up
I have a friend, sweet as can be.
Down in da dumps and kinda “Blah” you see.
Would, if I might endeavor to make a dent,
To cheer them up or ask how their day went.
Friends laugh, they cry, and share such things,
Together enjoying the relief that it brings.
So let us, my friend, turn right side up your frown,
And so regally wear it like royalty’s crown.
For one day, maybe later, maybe soon,
Your friend’s soul will sing the same tune.
And count them fortunate beyond compare,
To have a friend as you with them there.
