To Dad with Love
Up I did grow
On the pious lap of you
Little finger of yours,
The first walker of mine
The first step with you
Made me feel ruling the realm
I felt so secured
With the comfort of your clasp
At the time I grieve
You lent me your touch
That made of me
A pleasant kid on terrain
The mischief of mine,
The cause of your frown
So made of me
Never be the same
The triumph of mine
Though a trivial one
Fetched blossom on your face
So as the sun at the day break
My biggest failure
Never made you bewail
Your pat on my back,
Made a robust man of me
The teacher in you
Taught me way of life
You’re my mentor
To lead me aiming the pinnacle
Steering me to a vibrant path
Makes the best guide of you
It’s up to me now
To be the paramount
I tried in vain
To impersonate you
My dear Father
I envy you, for I’m not you
I admired you through
For the sturdy stance of you
The rousing persona of you
Made a proud lad of me
I couldn’t thank you enough
For your abiding gift
Merely the best of me
To be my gratitude to you
