Tissue of Tears
I can feel it run down the curve of my cheek
My sadness has reached a mountain’s peak
I’m hurt, confused, I just don’t know what to do
So at this point in my life I’ll have to say I’m through
The first one comes down and sits on my throat
The second one comes down and I start to choke
The third one plows down a face once dry
The fourth one makes me wish I wasn’t alive
So I grab a tissue to soak up my rain
I grab a tissue to soak up the pain
I grab a tissue to soak up the sorrow
I grab a tissue to soak up tomorrow
Silly me for thinking me and you could last
Silly me for jumping up and moving too fast
Silly me for being young and surrendering my heart
Silly me, now I sit and cry alone in the dark
But this is my last stand, I will cry no more
Because I shed rivers but I don’t know what for
It’s sad to think that you stole so many of my years
Wasted and soaked up in my tissue of tears
