Flashback
It’s like I’ve been in this exact situation before
I’ve climbed these stairs; I’ve knocked on this door
Then how is it that all of this seems so new
If this is a life of lies then how is it so true
Same person, same place, and the same complication
Same love, same problem, and the same infatuation
Time never goes backwards; not for any reason
Once its summer you know that fall’s the next season
But love is not normal; it follows its own clock
A clock that’s slow to tick and never seems to tock
More often then not it’s not that hard to find
That love can speed up, stop, and make time rewind
So now I’m back at the place where it all happens
The love, the pain, the anger, and the laughing
I’m back once asking to say I’m sorry for my actions
To beg on bended knee for you to quit packing
Back again to try to make your scarred heart forgive
To convince you that I need you as much as the kids
Once again you’ll break down and fall crying in my lap
And we’ll restart our life; a life of a flashback
