    Time

Screams of pain, tears of joy, congratulations it's a girl
    Tick
In her hair, all over her face, what a mess her first birthday cake.
    Tock
Don't worry honey I will soon be back, I know it's scary your fist day of class.
    Tick
I know your sixteenth birthday has been a drag so far,but take a look out the window, OH Mom you got me a car!
    Tock
Hats are thrown tears are shed congratulations little one, or should I say young lady instead.
    Tick
How is your classes going at Michigan State? I met this guy mom he's so great.
    Tock
Mom don't cry, I'll be back soon, I know and have fun on your honeymoon.
    Tick
You could have told me I'd feel like this, and how did you find clothes that fit?
    Tock
Scream of pain, tears of joy, congratulations it's a boy.

Like the tick-tock of passing time as they grow. 10 from me.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
