Time Traveler

Wish that I could travel through time
Feel your body raveled with mine
Take advantage of the moments I took for granted
Seize my opportunity; take hold and grab it.
And since I can’t stand all this being alone
And can’t stand to listen to certain love songs
Or close my eyes and picture your face
Recall your smile; your kiss I taste--
In my dreams and it seems that this love was a waste…
If I could travel through time and manipulate space…
I would go back to that place where our love died.
When we looked each other in the eye and we both cried.
When we finally realized that even a love as pure
As ours was when put to the test can’t endure.
But I can’t ignore that my heart is still sore
And those feelings that I swore I left at the door…
Are right here and real and in my heart still.
If I could travel through time then they would be revealed.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
