Brand New Day for a Brand New Me
The sun is up and the night has gone
The long, cold wind that chilled my bones
Has been replaced by the rays of light
Renewed reasons to live my life
Like roses in springtime I have survived
the frozen lifeless winter, yet still I am alive
Revitalized and ready for whatever surprise
Lies along this newly blazed path I undertake
Ready for successes, failures, mistakes
Things we can't avoid, but we try to anyway
No more am I blinded by heartache and pain
Nor seeking shelter in fear of the rain
Let it pour; rain down on my head
And let every drop remind me better alive than dead
Better to try and fly and be prepared for the fall
Than to sit on the wall and not try at all
Today is the first day of the rest of my history
A brand new day for a brand new me.
