Time for you, Time for me

She sits on the edge of my bed,
looking at me with brown eyes.
I know just what she’s thinking,
There is really no big surprise.

She sees in me a man so bold,
In shining armor a knight of old.
I have a plan to make her see,
That she’s the only one for me.

I love her and not just a little bit,
We have time and so much of it.
I can make her trust there is love,
That we can escape and rise above.

I can fly her away through space and time,
And I can finally make her mine.
But there is a problem she is full of fear,
I speak softly to try and make her hear.

She won’t listen the emotions are too strong,
Can I make her see just how much she’s wrong.
I’m trying to show her just how hard I’ve tried,
But I keep telling her my hands are always tied.

She’s calling out to me to help her every day,
And every night I go to bed trying to find a way.
I keep praying to God for our time to come,
Hoping that we will have our moment in the sun.

She comes to me once a week speaking of distress,
I lay her down upon my bed trying to help her rest.
I hold her tight and do my best to calm her down,
Speaking softly and trying to bring her back around.

I love her so very much I need her by my side,
Why must love always be such a bumpy ride.
I know we’ll make it I can feel it in my heart,
There is nothing in this world to tear us apart.

Very nice. My goal when I write is to captivate and keep the reader interested in what am writing. You do it very well. Thanks for sharing

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
