This Spell I Cast

Poem Commentary

Yes, about a real person. And again, Yes, I am a Witch!

This Spell I Cast

clothe of black
laid upon my altar
magical book of my own spells
softly placed, open faced

candles of black and blood red
adorn my table corners
caldron lit with herbs and charcoal
fit for my spell tonight

athame in hand to cast my circle
sharp and ready for its work
now is the time to call the corners
protection for this night is what I seek

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
silent secrets come to me
memories of my past
a figure of old etched in my mind
is the reason for this spell I cast
a dark figure with ill intent
many times killing the one I love so dear
I will set his fate tonight
deep down it is I he has always feared
I cast this spell upon his head
on this the night so calm and dark
a bloody mess will be left behind
a trip to hell he is about to embark
he will know before he dies in pain
just who has set this spell
as before him he sees my face
one he knows so very well
athame pointed to the sky
I speak these words outloud
“Your heart is in pain
it is time to end it all
remove the thing that pains you so
and watch it as it falls
my spell has been spun
your life is now done
just like before
I’ve left you dead on the floor”
Wicked!! This is just too cool!! That comment about yourself being a witch.. I mean, come on...I'm sure you're a nice person. I'm sure people don't think of you that way. Wait...OH!!..You mean a WITCH! Holy bedknobs and broomsticks Batman!! That's cool with me, I like witches, all kinds; good witches, bad witches, sand witches, hold the mayo please. I'm sorry...I'm just a smart ass sometimes, but it beats being a dumb ass!! Loved the poem!!!
Glad ya liked it!!! And I am sure I am thought of as a "witch/bitch" by a few people and maybe even crazy. Hell aren't we all!! ;-)
When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
