They Once Were

They Once Were

Blue and pink clouds ebb into indigo.
His memory no longer symbolizes pain.
They thought the distance would mean nothing.
They were a special type of people.
They were able to face the obstacles.
They were.
They are no longer
.
She felt him slip through their entwined fingers.

As quickly as their romance began, it ended.
Violet and gray are in the clouds now.
She knows that it was not a love lost, but one gained.
Her heart truly had learned to love again.
She would not allow waves of sorrow to drown it.
He will forever be her true love.
For eternity, they will be interlaced.
She will find her purpose in the horizon.
Eventually they will be together in these same clouds.

I have been where you are now with a man , a few times. I'm very happy now . This is a sad story- well written with a good soul . I hope you move on and it is not forever as you say - unless he returns to share as partners- everything is a partnership in love .

Beautiful Write....very vibrant skills on display, telling a moving story...thanks for sharing!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
