Missed

Standing out here looking over the balcony, she lets her mind drift again to him. What is he doing right now? Where is he? Is he thinking of me? She often wonders what her life would have been like if it had taken another course..his course. Dare she dream that she may have been happy? Yet, here she is. With another that does not set her heart to feeling things that he still can.  She sighs and looks up at the angry clouds threatening to let loose the rain as her own dam breaks along with her heart, again. She sadly realizes that this is what was chosen, she must accept it.
As the rain pours, he looks at her picture with tears on his wind blown cheeks, wondering.

Interesting-you tell this poetry as if it were a story. I like that. If these are real feelings then it has a greater effect on the reader.

This was excellent and I loved the ending - it sound like they are both missing the love they once had together - knowing no other could ever make them feel the way they do for each other... KD

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
