    The Witness

    The witness

Dear me how long It has been that

U stood the test of time and stood by me

U were silent and without a word

Now and then a shrunken brow that’s all your expression

And now and then your sympathetic sigh

That’s all u did and that’s all u gave me

    A symmetric company

Lord you know how you loved me and gave me this precious angle of the world

A world who witnessed me with silence and expressed it in even quiet actions

Lord what could be the wonder other than this human capability to perceive and feel each other

I know when I made love and when I made war for this is a witness

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
