The Wind
Like birds amongst the trees,
The wind blows throughout the yard;
Huffing and puffing, it swirls all about.
Making the clouds move quickly
And helping a butterfly stay afloat,
The air is soothing, cooling even.
Our kites soar higher than some trees,
Higher and higher until it seems as if it and the clouds are one.
The sound of children laughing carries,
Everything is joyful.
The trees and flowers sway,
As if to some hidden tune,
Back and forth with graceful bends.
When the song ends they bow and await the next to play,
At the last bow, as the music stops,
The night sky falls, and all go to bed.
All of course, but the wind.
The wind blows throughout the yard;
Huffing and puffing, it swirls all about.
Making the clouds move quickly
And helping a butterfly stay afloat,
The air is soothing, cooling even.
Our kites soar higher than some trees,
Higher and higher until it seems as if it and the clouds are one.
The sound of children laughing carries,
Everything is joyful.
The trees and flowers sway,
As if to some hidden tune,
Back and forth with graceful bends.
When the song ends they bow and await the next to play,
At the last bow, as the music stops,
The night sky falls, and all go to bed.
All of course, but the wind.
