    The Therapy Called TALK

To unburden the burden you feel within talk about it
That burden weighing you down so much
An accumulation of so many wrong things
Those you’ve done or those done to you
    Not speaking it out
keeps the weight the same or worst
And in no time your live seems stagnant
Like you just slammed the break to a halt
The pain, the hurt, the sin or unfortunate incident unshared
Makes you just loose track of time
As you remain in sorrow cum depression

    But talking about it
    Letting it all our verbally
    Is a whole therapy
Not to be traded for anything else
The one you talk to doesn’t have to say a word
But there’s nothing as good as
A listening ear, a caring heart or a shoulder to cry on
    Should the need arise
Its aftermath is peace and gladness from deep within
A spear that breaks the barricade of stagnancy

    Talk! God’s most cherished tool
A talking being He has made us all
So much He’s put in us to talk into existence
    Use the talking tool today
    It’s the best therapy
    Discovered a long time ago

    Catholics call it confession
    Psychologists call it counseling
    Doctors call it complains
    Police call it statement
    Lawyers call it defense
But I call it the best therapy!

I agree. Being a good listener comes in handy, too. Good poem. TS

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
