    The Spirit of Christmas

    A day ordinary

         In most of men’s minds,

               But to a few - extraordinary

                    Because of a wee baby’s cry.


    Amid a world of indifference

         Distinguished by the mundane,

              Came the God of Creation

                   Divinely Ordained.


    Laid in a manger

          Of lowly estate,

              He set His Glory aside

                   For a human birth date.


    All in the interest

         Of righting a wrong,

             And drawing man to Himself

                   Does the Spirit of Christmas belong.
