The Soulful Garden
I was a garden that needed a nurturing hand
All the beauty was over growing
The thorns of neglect were piercing with misunderstandings and survival
My life was a force unknown to me
I began the journey with compulsions charged from within
Passing through the gauntlet of experience and sin
Keeping watch on the fires that burned into the night
Washing in the rivers, coming to know healing light
Now here I am, a root to be planted
Returned to me garden strong and re birthed
Ready to yield jasmine, clovers, aloe and thyme
To spread out my beauty with strawberry vines and honeysuckle so sweet
I am a watchman over all that is mine
Only those worthy are invited to dine
I beseech the gods of love to unveil this master gardener
My Jehovah promised him to come
For the deepest inside part of my heart is etched there with his name
And like my Father, he will tend to his fields and she will be like no other
Childlike in her trust and undeniable in her passions
Wisdom will build her house
Strength will protect it
And she will be praised by her children's children
