    Dormant Heart

    can you see me?
    can you hear me?
I am here none the less
    none the less hungry
    none the less ready
    to love and be loved

    my mind wants to understand
    how love taste
    my heart wants to mend
    it's mistakes

    you were never it's mistake
    you were it's one chance
    you were it's fate

that is how I recognized you
that is why you came my way
    you belong to me
even though life has taken you far away
    and now once again
    my dormant heart is awake

just a bit disconnected, to me. trouble linking 1st stanza to last.

    i like this one too

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
