The Ring

My words can be tough

My scars have yet to heal

Is it the fidelity worn on your finger

That will dissolve the fears

Or the dreams of bursting passions

That will make my heart feel

Is it the tryst or the laughter shared

That will fade out the agnostic thoughts

I embrace your finger

With all my fragile care

My ambivalent manners are to frail

Affliction is my world

I breath in anguish

I breath out joy

Your ring commence the love

The love completes the seal

This is the poem of an intelligent poet; one who can deliver without pretension. Bravo! "I breath out joy" —yes, yes, yes! —smiles))

A wonderful commentary on the hopefulness of marriage! If not for the hope, what would be the point? Good write!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
