    the pain of love

    i cannot stop this feeling
a heart fluttered to and fro
is this love or lust so thrilling
    only time shall show

i try to stop the rising
of this pain that feels so good
this hurt that is so pleasing
oh how i wish i could

    it seems that only yesterday
    i was young and free
to run, and jump, and skip, and play
    with bandaids on my knees

what goes up must come down; as sure as this shall end
but must i be six feet under till i can rest agian

I can identify with a lot of this...wasn't it only yesterday we were carefree children, and the love we gave was unconditional and unguarded?

*Grammar. *opinion. I'm going to check out your poems now.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
