The Memory of You....

The Memory of You....

I hate you for the pain I have lived with in your absence.

I love you for the sweet dreams that visit me as only you can do.

I despise you for the life you left me with your death.

I love you for the kindness you displayed while the pain ate you up inside.

I can’t stand you, the memory of you, that lingers with me.

I love you for the happiness we shared together.

I hate you for the anguish of missing you constantly.

I love you for the chance you gave me to love someone as special as you.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
