I burn from hunger...

I burn from hunger...

I burn from hunger, want for your touch.

The distance between us unbearable, if only across the room.

If you are not touching me, you are too far away.I toss and turn searching

for your body in the night.

These sheets are cold for not having your body beneath them.

I crave your smile, long for your voice.

Even words are not the same as from you,

if you have not spoken I have not heard.

I thirst from desire, lust for your love.

You are my reality.

I you are not looking at me, I have not been seen.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
