Peace to you.

Peace to you.

Peace to you for what you have given me.
For the love we shared,
For the nights we craved,
For the bed we made.

Love to you for what you have done for me.
For the gentleness you displayed,
For the strength you gave,
For the joy you made.

Peace to you for what you said to me.
For calling me beautiful,
For thinking me a lady,
For saying goodbye so sweetly.

Love to you for having loved me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
