    The Levee (writers block)

    My pen's growing heavy.
    I have nothing to say.
    Thoughts behind a levee;
    I pray it will give way.

    I'm backing up with emotions,
    and I have no words to comply.
    I'm drifting through the minds oceans
    while all my memories float by.

    I can feel mirages in the distance.
    They are my intuitions rhythmic flow.
    I will choose the tide of most resistance
    for I know it's the only way to grow.

    To stay calm and collected is what it will take.
    Hope and strength pass through me guiding me with their wake,
    it's here I see the truth in what I need to make,
    my own inspired wave; and now the levee shall break.

    I like the way you structured this poem. The shorter verse in the begining doubling by the end, nice...

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
