the insistent demon
i saw the demon in my eyes
the one that picks at my mind
claws and scratches at my brain
inducing anger and feeding rage
the demon smiles and laughs at me
he picks and scratches insistently
telling me that we can be
as fucking angry as we want to be
lashing out at everyone
without a care for what we've done
the demon smirks quite content
pleased that he is the cause of it
i try to fight and hold him back
but he is ready to attack
his claws are out and razor sharp
his teeth like daggers biting hard
a wit that's quick he owns my tongue
before i know it my mouth has spung
saying things i wouldnt dare
spouting off with out a care
creating chaos within my life
destructive words with violent strife
projecting rage at anyone
who should dare to confront
no rhyme or reason it sometimes seems
the demon takes control of me
and when i look into my eyes
the insistent demon laughs and smiles
always there standing guard
always ready to take charge
to this fact i can attest
for my wicked demon there is no rest
