The Heart is the Most Fragile Organ

A heart is something easily broken,
and hard to put back together.
If you don't have help from people you love,
it can take nearly forever.
In so many ways, that it can break
in so many tiny pieces.
You can replace the wound with love,
but we all  know the pain never really ceases.
The first break, is without question, the most difficult
and after each crack, you find yourself in need of a cardiac jolt.
With the pain of each new fracture,
you learn to notice while your chest burns
that it is inevitable, that another piece of your heart never really returns.
The only good thing about it,
is no matter how many times it shatters,
there will be someone who loves you there
to spackle the holes, when it really, truly matters.
