The Clouds and the Sun
My hope is tied to the Clouds and the Sun
It shines bright or casts a shade, it stays still or it runs
The glistening sun shines for others to experience and see
The clouds of depression, I can relate too, their more real to me
The sun shines on few but amongst some cannot be seen
It's a tidal wave of good feelings, and for some it's negativity
And though the sun shines bright it never shines on me
Still I make them laugh so they can have a better day than V
It's amazingly fantastic if you can see through the skin
And get to the heart where as the mind is plagued with sin
It's easy to comprehend and yet no one understands
the natural road for me is not the natural road of the average man
It's dark like hell is hot; it's influenced by the past
I left that all behind, procrastinated, knew it wouldn't last
But my hope remained the same; it’s rooted deep like an ancient name
And though you want youth to prevail, you see it will never be the same
Age is like wine but for everyone it's not fine
To grow old but to stay gold is the only way it's divine
It's curious like a cat; it’s lonely as can be
It's my hope that I can feel, the same hope I can never see
A smile I can't have, a life that I can't lead
It's the gardener of negativity constantly planting the bad seed
It's romantic as can be, sarcasm mixed with levity
Its realism balanced with guilt, surrounded in a fantasy
But my hope remains true, that can never be taken from me
Wake me up out this dream cause this isn't my reality
But my hope responds, like I know it always will
Yet it continues to fade and only responds to the thrill
No reason to care because my hope slowly turns to fear
And though it's sunny outside its clear my hope is barely here
So shine bright all you want, save those clouds for me
And I'll have a picnic in the rain for all those who are like V
You can pretend but to pretend is to stare and never really see
That though the Sun shines bright it may never shine for me.
