The Boy Scout
I was, and am, a boy scout, I’m the one that goes out of my way,
To help everyone out, My oath for life is
“On my honor, I will do my best,
To do my duty, to god, and my country, And to obey the scout law;
To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong,
Mentally awake, and morally straight,”
And I am, a man of my word, So I try to obey the scout law,
Even when my country, turns its back on me, with its laws
And I still, try to obey, the scout law, to be
“Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Courteous, Kind,
Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent”
But it gets hard to be loyal, to a country,
That is not loyal, to its people, So I try to stay loyal to its people,
As I attempt to change, the course of our country
I know, that in this country, freedom, is an illusion
And the land of the free, continues to imprison me
Freedom and liberty, is what we preach,
But in schools, lies are all that we teach
They tell you, that we have freedom of speech
Until you disagree, with what they preach, and teach
I believe in my country, but I don’t believe in its leaders
They will do anything to get rich,
They don’t care about us, as they run us into the ditch
I was, and am, a boy scout, I’m the one that goes out of my way,
To help everyone out, but it’s getting hard to stay loyal,
To a country, not loyal to its people, so I try to stay loyal,
To its people, as I attempt to change the course of our country
