The Awful Truth

The Awful Truth

Happiness is futile
Love is fake
Trust is forgotten
Life is mostly take

Pain is real
Heartache a truth
Loss a sad fact
Faith like a broken tooth

Irony is everywhere
It's at every turn
Behind the honesty we say
is a lie that we should burn

true but very pessimistic is suggest a line at the end like "but there is always hope"

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
