Speak to me
She says Speak to me, my darling, but do not open your mouth,
the words sound so much better when they find their own way out,
do it in code, write me a letter, though I cannot imagine what it would be about,
Like a shipwrecked makeshift Moses, without a people to lead,
and no an Aaron before Pharaoh his case to plead,
The cessation of sensation, the only feeling there is
numb,
Having lived in my mind, my thoughts uttered to non,
till most around me conclude I am both deaf and dumb,
I will not and cannot speak, be it English Latin or Greek,
so I will sing you a song, I will write you poem, you haven't
heard me sing in so long, the old songs you know em,
She says speak to me my darling, but do not open your mouth,
the words sound so much better, when they find their own way out.
