Soul Cry

Soul Cry

The whistling of the wind
The blowing of the rain
The pounding of my heart
The struggle of my strain

My heart is bleeding
My inner man is hurt
Because my man doesn't
know my worth

The words play like a melody
like glue they stick in my head
girl, just give up you are better off dead
I can't, I won't, I refuse to die I reply
so I'll just hold on I refuse to cry
Why???

Because I can hear my soul cry
Stay strong my sista for you're going to win this
fight. Don't lose your focus my sista just hold on tight
To life and to love because it was given to you freely from
above.

Absolutely loved this, so rhythmical, a good choice of words that reflected the theme of your title. this is truly a beautiful piece of writing.

This is great!A scream of unbelievable truth,a wailing call many of us hear.Often, our gift is painful, really, really, took your words to heart. This IS what makes a poet!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
