I never knew peace
I never knew joy
I knew unconditional love

I had an encounter with the Greatest Man Alive
He accepts me for who I am; the flaws, the mistakes, the disappointments, the hang ups and all.

He whispered sweetly, softly in my ear.
" I Love You", instantly I knew his words were sincere.
We talked for a while then he began to promise me some stuff
At that very moment that was enough to sustain me and keep
me strong.

He promised he would be there; he wouldn't leave me alone.
He gently caressed the tears that were falling from my face.
Hid me underneath his wings, it's now my secret resting place.
I get to go there and stay
day after day after day after day.

From the shadows of death he keeps me
With the rod of correction he teaches me
From the pangs of pain he heals me
With a migty strong tower he shields me

He's the captain of my ship
He's the lover of my soul
His praise shall forever be on my lips
A prize more precious than gold.
