Somewhere Between Love and Math
Butterflies fluttering in my stomach in their dreamy mating dance
My heart is racing
My hands are shaking
I’m a schoolgirl in a trance
Your eyes are a colorful blend of autumn leaves
I can’t concentrate in Math and my smile spreads to my sleeve
I’m happy and my spirit is in the clouds
None other has ever made me want to dance and sing aloud
You are as sweet as summer strawberries
so wise in your grace
I can’t focus on equations
All I see is your face
I hope someday I can buy some of your time
So easily you inspire me and instead of averages
I’m formulating rhymes
What a simple romantic distraction
And I pray a mutual attraction
As you have me captivated
The poet in me forever activated
My soul is filled with glee at the idea of seeing you again
